PART 1: Creative Solutions for Overcoming Barriers
Elisabeth will present a proven framework for thinking like the employer to identify barriers and create solutions. She will demonstrate six solution tools for overcoming anything that gets a client screened-out. Using accelerated training approaches to accommodate various learning styles, plus crowd-sourcing, Elisabeth will offer a presentation that is engaging, challenging, relevant, fun, and immediately applicable to your current work.
*All ‘barrier’ examples will come from the group and Elisabeth will contact registrants in advance to gather a sampling of relevant barriers. Examples of barriers may include: never worked, over-qualified, convictions, moving to new and very different industry, re-entering parents, returning from military service or an injury, recent college grads, recovering addicts, or over-educated.
PART 2: How to Be A Knowledge Nomad:
Helping People Thrive in a Jobless Work Environment.
100 years after Henry Ford introduced the moving assembly line in 1913, America is witnessing the decline of the traditional ‘job.’ This clarifying and practical session will help you understand changes in how people choose, create, and maintain work/income in this new world, and offers strategies to help people succeed. Based on recent data, including “Knowledge Nomads & The Nervously Employed” by Feller & Whitchard, this session will help career practitioners:
- Challenge outdated and ineffective mindsets.
- Cultivate a new mindset that makes them more useful to clients.
- Increase their knowledge and confidence in helping clients prepare for and succeed in today’s environment.
- Gain practical strategies by which they can encourage and equip clients to thrive in the new construct of work.
