“Counselors as Social Justice Champions Confronting Daily Injustices”

Counseling professionals are at the forefront of multiple social justice issues in and out of the workplace.  No longer is it possible to separate our work roles from societal inequities for children, families, immigrants, and community members at-large. At times people’s issues or situations may feel overwhelming and yet, our preparation as helpers and humanists make it impossible to not take action. The multicultural mindset and the multicultural and social justice competencies can guide our processes from awareness to action.

Any conference attendee who has special dietary needs, please contact Jeannie McKenney by Friday March 16th at jeannie.mckenney@mma.edu.
